The Hampshire and Isle of Wight VCSE Health and Care Alliance (HIVCA) exists to bridge the gap between the NHS and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector, advocating for better integration, and making sure collaboration is at the heart of health and care.

What is a VCSE alliance?

A VCSE alliance is a partnership that brings together Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations to collaborate, share resources, and strengthen their collective voice, particularly with the NHS and Integrated Care Boards.

VCSE organisations play a critical role within local health and care systems both as service providers, in engaging communities and advocates, giving people a voice. Our aim is to promote strong and visible VCSE sector works collaboratively to deliver excellent services aligned to community needs.

The Alliance helps VCSE organisations become active partners within the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care System (ICS) HIOW ICS here By working together, we aim to:

  • Improve the health and wellbeing of people within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight
  • Reduce inequalities by ensuring services reach those most in need.
  • Strengthen collaboration between the VCSE sector and the NHS.
  • Influence policy and decision-making at a strategic level.

By fostering partnership and co-production, HIVCA ensures that the VCSE sectorplays a key role in shaping and delivering health and care services across the region.
